The European Forum Against Blindness (EFAB) is an independent, multi-stakeholder advocacy platform, and is composed of the European Men’s Health Forum (EMHF), the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO), the AMD Alliance International and the International Diabetes Federation European Region (IDF Europe). The group acts as a platform to bring together key stakeholders to increase awareness of eye diseases which can lead to vision loss and promotes prevention, timely diagnosis and accurate care. The platform is supported by Novartis and Alcon as a service to medicine and patients.

World Sight Day 2014
On the occasion of World Sight Day 2014, EFAB and the ECV organised a dinner event with Members of the European Parliament on addressing the challenge of preventable blindness. ECOO professionals were also present in the European Parliament with an information stand offering digital retina photography and providing information about vision and eye health.

World Sight Day 2013
On the occasion of World Sight Day 2013, the European Forum Against Blindness (EFAB) organised a two-day information stand and dinner debate in the European Parliament to raise awareness about eye diseases and the importance of having regular eye checks to prevent blindness.
