Ann joined the Federation of (Ophthalmic and Dispensing) Opticians in 2014. Her brief covers a wide range of national and international policy which impacts on the optical sector as well as the provision of bespoke advice to members. She works closely with a wide range of optical partners and external stakeholders to advance eye health, optometry and optics. Ann regularly drafts and inputs to national and ECOO policy and position papers to governments, EU institutions and key stakeholders.
Ann has an extensive background in policy analysis and development, public affairs and communications. Before joining FODO she spent two years as Head of Media and Public Affairs at the UK Electoral Commission; prior to that she was Head of Campaigns and Communications and Head of Policy at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in England. In that role she helped set up a European Network of National Civil Society Associations (ENNA) and managed the secretariat, which was based in Brussels.
Ann is currently Secretary of ECOO’s Public Affairs and Economic Committee and an Observer Member of its Executive Committee.
